Yaziel suspected teleportation, but a split second later and a forceful kick to the Highblood's spine confirmed that his quarry had indeed remained on the lift--and had a head start on beating him senseless.
Yaziel staggered forward on his hooves, only barely remaining upright but his mind was already working overtime. An illusion charm. He turned to face his invisible attacker, but not before receiving another brutal strike--this time to his nose. It was punctuated by the loud shattering of cartilage as he fell backwards into the lift's wall. His acute hearing picked up his assailant's feet on the floor, and could discern that he--or she--did not have hooves.
He braced himself and reached out just in time to predict and catch one of the intruder's fists before it struck his face again. The other arm went low, punching the Demon
